What I Know Now 2
If I could sit beside my younger self during those years, I wouldn’t ask her why she wasn’t eating.
I’d ask her what she was carrying.
Because now I know that food wasn’t the real conversation.
Fear was.
Loneliness was.
Wanting to belong was.
Wanting to feel enough was.
For years, I thought the answer was to keep shrinking.
Recovery taught me that healing wasn’t about becoming smaller.
It was about becoming visible again.
Learning to speak.
Learning to ask for help.
Learning that I was allowed to take up space long before I believed it.
